700 registered in the LloretTrail next Sunday, September 27
• La Sansi, organizer of the race, celebrated the Cursa de la Mercè last weekend with great organizational success and strict Covid-19 protocol
• It is one of the races with the most registrations in Catalonia since March
Lloret de Mar, September 23, 2020.- Next Sunday September 27, La Sansi, with the collaboration of the Lloret de Mar City Council, will organize the LloreTrail, a 5 and 12 km mountain race authorized by the Catalan Athletics Federation and the General Secretariat for Sports and Physical Activity.
The race had to be postponed twice because of the pandemic: on March 22 and then on July 26. Finally, it will be played next Sunday, after receiving all the favorable reports. Ana Garcia Castany, Sports Councilor, explained that "Lloret's commitment is to continue promoting sport and, in this sense, both private organizers and the public sector work to offer the maximum guarantees of safety".
Last weekend, La Sansi led the technical direction of the Carrera de la Mercè in Barcelona, one of the sports competitions with the most participants since March, with 3,000 registered.
Jose Luis Blanco, organizer, explains that "The Lloretrail will meet the same requirements as the Cursa de la Mercè, with all the mandatory safety and hygiene recommended by the health authorities. The distances to travel will be 12 kilometers (600 m of unevenness) with departure at 07:30 am and 5 kilometers (150 meters of unevenness) with departure at 09:30 am ". The race has had a good acceptance and details that "Yesterday 100 extra registrations were made available and, therefore, we hope to reach 700 registered".
The departure and arrival will be located at different points in the Rieral neighborhood of Lloret de Mar. The departures will be staggered: 12 km from 07:30 a.m. and 5 km from 09:30 a.m., complying with the security distance required at the time of the event, and will count the time of each participant from when he passes through the timing mats (Championchip) from start to finish.
The participants will enter a small interurban route and then they will continue doing the first ascents and descents through a journey through different emblematic mountains of Lloret. A technical layout with some ramps of about 40%.
