success of the 45th Sant Silvestre del Masnou

Sansi and the El Masnou City Council have today organised the historic 45th San Silvestre del Masnou, with more than 2,300 bibs sold out, setting a record for registrations in its 45 editions.
A 5K race approved by the National II, the oldest San Silvestre in Catalonia with 45 consecutive editions, since it was also organised during the 2020 pandemic.
A total of 2,325 registered participants were invited to take part in the event, with the participation of international and popular athletes, including the basketball player Ricky Rubio.
On a very fast circuit, with only two turns, good times have been achieved, enjoying one of the most important sporting events in Spain during the Christmas season.
Latvian Dmitrijs Serjogins, from Club La Sansi, was the winner for the fourth consecutive edition, with a time of 14:24, ahead of David Campo, with 14:49, and third, Marc Guardia, with 14:50.
In the women's category, the champion was Mercè Sánchez, with a time of 17:02, followed by Olympic athlete Laura Heredia, with 17:04, and third, Rebeca Suárez, with 17:38.
The starting gun was given by Mayor Jaume Oliveras and the Councillor for Sports, Sílvia Folch, who were also in charge of giving the prizes to the winners together with Carmen Bastida, Director of the Catalan Sports Council.
